Lazuli is a multidisciplinary project by Nic Laflamme, venturing beyond his work with QRBP and Les Gourides to tell his story through words and music. Consisting of a 15-chapter autofiction novel and a 15-song album, the project follows Niko Li Lazuli through a series of memories connected to his father, Victor. From one chapter to the next, the story travels across different countries, revealing the history behind each of Victor’s compositions, none of which were published during his lifetime. Through this work of autofiction, in which Nic Laflamme embodies both Niko and Victor, Lazuli blurs the lines between creation, memory, and personal narrative.

The musical component of the project features distinctive arrangements influenced by a wide range of sounds, bringing together piano, mandolins, bouzouki, accordion, guitars, and percussion, all performed by Nic Laflamme. Co-produced and mixed by Bruno Rodéo, the album will come to life on stage during six concerts presented between November 14 and December 12, alongside Bruno Rodéo, François Gaudreault, and Élise Legrand. Audiences can expect a program combining music, readings from the book, and an immersive journey into the world of Lazuli.
